European Clarinet Association Research Competition
(5. and 6. November 2010)
Call for Papers
The German special magazine rohrblatt organizes a research competition in order to include a series of scholarly papers and presentations in the festival as well as to support European research on the clarinet. rohrblatt solicits proposals for presentations (such as papers or lecture-recitals) on any topic related to the clarinet. Presentations should be designed to be no more than 25 minutes in lenght. Each person is limited to one proposal. The language of the proposals and presentations is English, and a paper should be delivered in person at the meeting by its author. Applicants whose proposals are accepted will be notified by August 15, 2010. The accepted abstracts will then be placed on the the societys website (www.international-music-promotion.be) where information about all aspects of the conference will be available.
The first price will be 300,- and a guaranteed publication in rohrblatt in the first issue of 2011.
The jury consists of 3 international specialists :
- President : Colin Lawson, director Royal College of Music London
- Heike Fricke, editor Rohrblatt, musicologist
- Wolfgang Lohff, instrument maker
To submit a proposal, please send the following:
1. An abstract (1500 words) fully describing the content of the proposed presenatation.
2. An author identification sheet containing the authors name, address, phone numbers, and email address, if applicable. Please list all the equipment needs for the proposed presentation. This sheet should also contain a biographical sketch of the author (limited to 150 words), as you would like it printed in the conference program.
The above materials must be received by June 30th, 2010.

Workshop: Klezmer-Improvisations with Helmut Eisel
at the Schwenk & Seggelke workshop, Bamberg,
from Nov. 27th, 15pm to Nov 29th 2009, 16pm.
The participation fee includes visit of the concert "Clarinet Colours" with Helmut Eisel & JEM on Saturday, Nov. 28th 2009 at Schwenk & Seggelke.
Clarinet Fest 2009 in Oporto, Portugal

Master course with Prof. Charles Neidich
On January, 16th to 19th 2009 a master course with with Prof. Charles Neidich will take place at SCHWENK & SEGGELKE.
The number of 'active' participants is limited to 10, 'passive' participants without limitation.
We will visit the concert in the Bamberg Symphony Hall together (Ticket already included in the workshop charge).

On Friday, January 16th, 20h, there is a concerto in the "Sinfonie an der Regnitz" concert hall in Bamberg, featuring Charles Neidich, clarinet, Michael Sanderling, cello, and Katsura Mizumoto, piano.
